Easy Oatmeal Cookies

Ingredients
  

  • 3/4 cup Shortening
  • 1 cup Brown Sugar Packed
  • 1/2 cup Sugar
  • 1 Egg
  • 1/4 cup Water
  • 2 tsp Vanilla
  • 1 cup All-Purpose Flour Sifted
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1/2 tsp Baking Soda
  • 3 cups Old Fashioned Oats

Method
 

  1. Heat oven to 350 degrees F. Beat sugars and shortening together until combined. Add egg, water and vanilla and beat until creamy.
  2. In another bowl, sift together flour, salt and baking soda. Add to the wet ingredients and blend well. Stir in the oats. Also add any other favorite ingredients for variety such as chopped nuts, raisins, chocolate chips or coconut.
  3. Grease a cookie sheet or line with parchment paper. Drop the oatmeal dough by one inch balls onto cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 12 to 15 minutes. Cookies will turn a light golden brown and firm up as they cool. Enjoy!
